Yes, Yes....ANOTHER bloody consultation about the Arts....ANOTHER thing to distract you from the studio.
But, look at it this way.....how much more satisfying is it going to be to moan about Creative Scotland after you HAVE told them what is needed and they haven't listened.
This is actually a very significant bit of work that CS are undertaking before what promises to be an even more radical revisiting of their approach to Visual Art and Craft.
There are two ways to take part:
1. A survey of how we operate as individual practitioners - this is a pretty straightforward tick box thing that will take you about 10 mins to complete. They need to know how many of us there are and what we are doing in order to shape policy to have the best effect for the largest number.
2. An 'open consultation' - this is really for the more strategically minded, using the categories of practice that CS currently fund you can write as much or as little as you like about your big or small ideas for how CS could help the Visual Arts and Crafts. (You can contribute to as many or as few of the categories as you like)
You can take part in both types of consultation or either one - up to you.
Before dashing off to fill in the consultation, it's perhaps best to arm yourself with a bit more information, particularly the questions posed by the clever cove who's running the Stramash Arts blog.
