d-funk*t – Quality Monthly Music in Dumfries and Galloway

June 1st 21:30 – 00:30 Castle Douglas Town Hall, £5 entry all night, over 16’s only

Dark Fusion presents the second night of quality music to be funnelled through the Legacy Sound System.

Headline show from live Scottish Hip Hop duo Toni Smoke and MC Kayce One.
Support from minimal techno DJ te_rauna and live dub from Strawberry Jam Sound.
Rapper - Producer Duo Kayce One & Toni smoke from Glasgow have been putting out music together for the last 3 years and have just released their second album "100th Monkey" the follow up to 2011's "Alphabetics" which received support from the likes of BBC Radio One and UK wide acceptance of Scottish Rap music in general.
Kayce One has leapfrogged the competition with his skills as a rapper on a track in the studio, live on stage and also as a battle rapper currently holding the freestyle crown as unbeaten and judged winner recently by US Rapper Coolio, which resulted in a collaboration with Coolio himself featuring Kayce One and produced by Toni Smoke. (To be heard later this year - stay tuned)
Toni Smoke has been producing for 15 years and constructs harmonic tracks to dark tracks which take you on a journey and set the canvas to be portrayed by the story. Award nominated producer and Degree level audio engineer/ producer, Toni always brings a bag full of head nodders.
2013 is a busy year gigging wise with weekly gigs all around Scotland and festivals including the Eden Festival and The Wickerman Festival in Scotland and more music to come with the second album of "Shadowpeople" the Crew collaboration of Kayce One, Toni smoke, Nity Gritz, Wee-D and RST sure to be another summer album full of anthems.
Mixing sounds from everywhere and onto solid hip hop drum breaks with lyricism that’s relatable and tells a story of life in the real world. Their sound is not of the mainstream but of an age of hip hop still remembered but still alive and kicking in Scotland.
