Fresh Start @ Mill on the Fleet

The Fresh Start for the Arts team are back out again, this time rocking up at the Mill on the Fleet, Gatehouse of Fleet on Thursday September 5th at 1.30pm. Kathleen O’Neill, Fresh Start for the Arts Project Manager will give a presentation on ‘the future role and value of a Regional Arts Hub.’

The consultation process recognised the intrinsic value of the Hub system in the present climate and recommendations to the Chamber for the Arts, Dumfries and Galloway Arts Partnership Council and Creative Scotland have favoured many outcomes of the Fresh Start process. These include a firm strengthening of resources to support Hub networks.

Recognising the summer brings with it a transition period for the arts sector in relation to Fresh Start, we hope you can join us in September at the Mill for an update on Fresh Start and to hear, how towards the end of the project, its findings have been considered to bring greater profile to the arts sector as a whole.

This invitation aims to bring together as many people as possible who have contributed time to Regional Arts Hub meetings in the past, and offers a wider opportunity for anybody concerned with regional arts issues to come along:

This meeting is intentionally scheduled for Gatehouse of Fleet, as an ongoing concern to date has been that too many gatherings of regional concern take place in Dumfries. To support any early arrivals from people travelling a distance, the Mill cafe will be open for an enjoyable light lunch.
