Commissioning Opportunity - Regional Arts Convenor Dumfries and Galloway
(£39,000 for contract lasting 21 months)

Liminal by Helson and Jackets (Cardoness Shore, Gatehouse of Fleet 2013)
Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Arts are delighted to announce a commissioning opportunity in Dumfries and Galloway for the role of Regional Arts Convenor. The Regional Arts Convenor is in many ways the key ‘connector’ of the new structure for the arts in Dumfries and Galloway that will support and develop the arts in the region into 2015. The role convenes and chairs the Regional Arts Hub, which brings together four area arts hub convenors, council officers and other key creative executives within the region and assists with the facilitation and monitoring of other arts commissions within the region. The Regional Arts Convenor will service the Board of the Chamber of the Arts, the role of which is to advise the Council on the planning and commissioning of regional arts services, and will work with the Chamber, the Council and the arts sector to develop a regional Arts Plan for 2015 onwards. We are looking for an appropriately skilled independent cultural practitioner with a substantial organisational experience, although alternative proposals will also be considered

The commissioning process will be managed though the Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) web portal. To receive the brief you must be registered as a supplier on this website, and must either be self-employed or registered as a company.

The brief will be released to registered suppliers via the PCS website on 1 October 2013. The deadline for return of submissions will be 5pm on Monday 14 October. Interviews for shortlisted suppliers will take place on Tuesday 29 October in Dumfries.

Use this link to register on the PCS website as a supplier and complete your Supplier Finder profile by Monday 30 September: http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk.

Make sure you also email Jean.Russell@dumgal.gov.uk with subject line Regional Arts Convenor to let us know you have registered. Failure to do so may mean that we will be unable to send the brief to you.
