Day of the Region in Whithorn

From Mel Barr

As I am sure you are aware Whithorn is one of the towns taking part in the “Day of the Region” in September (our events are on the weekend of 20th & 21st September).
The programme includes all sorts of free to attend events and many artists will be taking part. I myself have a exhibition of Decoys and a feather painting workshop whilst the Whithorn Arts group will be holding a number of workshops over the weekend and the Creative Whithorn group will be taking part in a Big Draw event on the Saturday afternoon in Whithorn School.
Friday evening sees the premier screening of As Ithers See Us, a silent film shot about Whithorn at the same time as All Roads Lead to Whithorn in the community centre main hall from 6pm - 8pm.
Sunday's entertainment includes Vintage Fashion Shows and a 50's themed tea dance
The event is of course organised by the  D & G Leader Programme and more information can be obtained by visiting the Day of the Region Website here
