TED talks

Tweet from Hannah Stewart:
'Ok , we are about to start programming Cumbria's first series of TEDx talks, any thoughts on who you want to see or what you want to learn?'

Hannah's organisation (freerangeartists) ran an excellent seminar in Carlisle last year about artists working in a rural context. The TED thing is something that started in California - people from every kind of field you can imagine have 12 minutes to present and idea that they think is important for humankind. Some of these talks have become incredibly significant in the way contemporary ideas have moved forward

Ken Robinson's TED talk is one of my favourites, the link is here ...ok, so it is a bit over 12 minutes, but if you have any interest in the importance of creativity in the way we educate children then this is most definitely worth 20 mins of your life (it is very funny too).
If you have any ideas for Hannah about people or topics for a TED event in Cumbria then contact her through her website http://www.freerangeartists.co.uk or via Twitter (@freerangeartist)
