Gretna Landmark - winner announced

Commonty readers were proved right in their predictions, when the winner of the competition to design the new artwork marking the border crossing at Gretna, was revealed today as Charles Jencks/Cecil Balmond for their 'Star of Caledonia'

'Star of Caledonia' is 40m high and 50m across, it is to be illuminated at night and sit beside the M74 motorway

  2. Thomas, perhaps you've tapped into the M74 master plan blueprint and the Star of Caledonia is fated to become a roundabout for the Euroroute motorway linking Sanquhar and Paris...
