  1. UZ Arts in partnership with South Ayrshire Council, are looking to commission an artist in any art form to create 1 of 3 commissions to be developed with groups across South Ayrshire.

Inspiration for this project is taken from the period of Scottish history, which embodied the great leap forward in scientific, cultural and creative thinking; the Scottish Enlightenment.

Working under the umbrella theme of 'lighting up the darkness' UZ will commission an artist in any art form, to work with groups across the authority to create a 'beacon'.

This will be a work which takes a visual form ie; a projection work, series of bill posters, a sculptural work, or a performative form, to be sited in Wellington Square Gardens, Ayr. It will be highly visible, and visual markers in the town will guide the public to it.

The artist will organize, design and timetable any creative engagement sessions in collaboration with Ayrshire Council’s senior cultural coordinator.

This project is funded by Creative Scotland and South Ayrshire Council, and will include a fee of £4000 paid in 2 stages.

This opportunity is available in: South Ayrshire
