The North West Dumfries Public Art Commission Plan
identified green space in Summerhill and the theme “New Perspectives” – Play in
the Landscape (Earthworks and Landforms) as the basis to commission the
development and procurement of high quality integrated art and design work
based on an imaginative vision for community use of their public spaces.
The purposes and aims of this project are:

for the benefit of residents
To encourage more people to use and
benefit from the green space
To engage local young people and
others in artist/community workshops
To deliver a top quality, imaginative,
interactive and engaging artwork
Essential criteria for applicant:

To work as part of a project
management team
To strive to meet the requirements of
the project funders
To develop the commission brief for
the artist and details of the artist selection criteria
To manage the tender process,
shortlisting and interviews, and to commission and oversee the work of the
artist.
To support the selection of the
preferred public art option, and to manage its delivery
To deliver the project to completion
within the defined timescale and budget
