Spring Fling 2012 open. Apply liberally...

Spring Fling 2012 Applications Open

Spring Fling Open Studios, the most successful event of its kind in Scotland is now accepting applications for 2012. In celebration of the 10 year anniversary of Spring Fling, the event will for the first time in 2012, be four days long, from 2-5 June. Applications are welcomed from artists, makers and designers living and working in Dumfries and Galloway. Applications are also welcomed under the Spring Fling Homecomer Scheme, available to applicants who can demonstrate a strong link to Dumfries and Galloway. To apply please download the guidelines and application form from and submit with four images, a CV and an artists statement. The deadline for applications is 24 October 2011.

Spring Fling Young Artists Bursary Programme 2012

For the first time in 2012, as part of the Springboard Project, Spring Fling will be offering two graduates from UK art schools the chance to be awarded a place on the Spring Fling Young Artists Bursary Programme. The recent graduates will be awarded 15 days of mentoring from a professional artist, £1000 to create new work, and free and automatic entry into Spring Fling Open Studios 2012 where they will be given a space to show their new work. Applications are open until 28 October 2011 and are open to recent UK art school graduates or final year students under the age of 25, with a connection to Dumfries and Galloway.
