Boyce slams in Weegie hat trick

Another memorable night for the Scottish visual arts - and Glasgow in particular as Martin Boyce won the 2011 Turner Prize....following on from Richard Wright in 2009 and Susan Phillipsz last year, to be the third Scottish artist in a row to take the award.

Here is a slightly vague video from last night's ceremony about Martin's winning work...which does rather play into the classic Turner question 'err...and?'

However this 5 minute film made by the National Gallery is much better at presenting the artist's practice:

Congratulations Martin Boyce!

Meanwhile, for those that believe the Turner Prize is mostly an excuse to shove it up the 'jessies in leotards' (B.Connolly) of the artworld.....this is courtesy of The DailyMash
