Roofless in D+G - Village Halls

Call for Village Halls, Dumfries and Galloway
Roofless is Scotland’s biggest, most ambitious new street arts programme, designed to engage directly with local and regional communities across the country.  In its first incarnation this year, Roofless will create five large-scale participation events specifically tailored to 5  locations in Scotland.

Roofless will be working with 4 village halls in Dumfries and Galloway in a celebration that will raise their roofs! At each hall an interactive music and dance installation will be created by the community with a team of professional artists.
UZ Arts are seeking expressions of interest from vibrant village halls across Dumfries and Galloway who are interested in participating in Roofless.  You will already have an active and supportive community willing to take part in a project centred around social dance, and a committee who will play a strong part in making the project happen.
Each village hall will be allocated an ‘artist in residence’ and a budget to work with the community to transform the space for the weekend of September 18th/19th 2012.
If you would like to be a part of this exciting programme, please email jo@uzevents.com providing details of a lead contact person and how you think your village hall is best suited for the Roofless programme.
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 13th April.
