Award winning Scottish folk singer Emily Smith and New Zealand born multi-instrumentalist Jamie McClennan are two of the leading musicians of the contemporary folk scene.  They will be touring Scotland in July and will kick off with a show at New Cample Farm on Friday 20th July.  Since it opened in 2009 Emily and Jamie have been promoting concerts at New Cample Farm shop when their own touring schedule allows.  “Apart from our annual charity Christmas show Jamie and I haven’t performed our own show at the farm shop yet. We have a run of shows in small west coast venues coming up and thought why not kick it off with a show at the farm shop?  We’ll be trying out some new songs and tunes, alongside favourites from our albums so far.”
Emily and Jamie have been creating music together for a decade. They met in 2002 shortly after Emily won the prestigious title of ‘BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year’.  Jamie joined Emily’s band initially on fiddle but over the years has become an integral part of Smith’s sound playing fiddle and lead guitar on recordings and live performances as well as producing Emily’s latest solo album ‘Traiveller’s Joy’, the success of which helped garner her the nominations of ‘Folk Singer of the Year’ & Best Traditional Track’ at the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.  For more info see: www.emilysmith.org or www.jamie mcclennan.com
