An idea from the Highlands

The Highland Council has made an amendment to its planning guidelines to include the possibility of demanding a 'contribution for art' from developers wishing to build in the Highlands. This could provide much needed income for artists in the region. D+G's Matt Baker spoke at a recent session between artists and planners in Inverness - his blogpost for IOTA (Inverness Old Town Art) about the idea and how it could be used to benefit the local arts scene  - is here

IOTA's Sublime project - artists films on the roof of the Rose Street carpark
Something similar could be a part of the new joined-up culture in D+G Council too?
