The Commonty is proud to announce the first official information about an Environmental Arts Festival Scotland based across the whole region in D&G in 2013.
The intention is that this should be the first in a biennal series of festivals that focuses on contemporary relationships between Culture and Land, bringing the unique spirit of the SouthWest to a national and international audience. All of us will have had conversations at one time or another about 'what if this or that worked together - that would be really something' - this just could be one of the opportunities to make the 'what ifs' happen in our region.
The first festival is, necessarily, something of an experiment....and produced with a limited budget - but if everyone works together then this could be the beginning of genuinely important contribution to the future we want to live in.
Environmental Arts Festival Scotland (EAFS) looks forward to hosting local, national and international talent.
The Commonty is in....how about you?

Am I getting understanding this right that EAFS is looking for ideas and partnerships right across the board - not soley from 'arty' folk?
ReplyDeleteIf so that is truly refreshing and will be very interesting to behold.
NO NO NO, an international event in the provinces??!! CS have gone tooo far this time. What will we see - Best Picture Made of Macaroni? For heavens sake the artworld is very different to a village gala!
ReplyDeleteLets hope that lovely Charlie Jencks will be at home whilst this is on, at least he is civilised enough to have fence around his garden.
btw did I ever mention that Karla Black once let me hold her handbag?
