From Alex Boyd's Sonnet series |
Alex Boyd is widely regarded as one of the rising stars of contemporary Scottish photography, perhaps best known for his series Sonnets – a series of large format landscapes featuring a lone figure in some of Scotland’s most distinctive locations.
Currently working with antique photographic processes such as wet-plate collodion and calotype, In March 2012 he appeared in a new BBC series and book on the history of Victorian photography, and his work has appeared in several books and magazines. He is currently the Royal Scottish Academy Artist in Residence at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on the Isle of Skye.
