Two
workshops in Dumfries and Galloway will give a rare opportunity for writers in
the region to learn from the best.
Fans
of fantasy and science fiction will be familiar with the author Ken MacLeod who
will be sharing his insight into the genre on Friday 5th July. Ken
is a multi award-winning Scottish science fiction writer and he'll be leading a
workshop at the A'the Airts in Sanquhar between 2pm and 4pm.
The
next workshop features the highly successful author David Bishop who has worked
for many years as a freelance writer of graphic novels and comic strip
adventures as well as being the editor of Judge Dredd magazine and 2000AD.
David will be talking about writing graphic novels on Tuesday 23rd
of July from 2pm to 4pm at Powfoot Golf Hotel, Powfoot near Annan.
As
the workshops are being held as part of Dumfries and Galloway Rural Literature
Development Hub the cost for each of these events is just £5 to anyone who
lives in Dumfries and Galloway or who is a member of a writing group in the
region. The charge is only £25 for participants from outside the Dumfries and
Galloway postcode areas.
All
these opportunities have been organised by the Booktown Writers group from
Wigtown and further nformation is available at www.booktownwriters.co.uk. Book your place by
