Poetry Reading by Judi Benson

HOLE IN THE WALL. Poetry reading by Judi Benson. 23rd September, 6pm-8pm.  Robert Burns Centre, Mill Road, Dumfries DG2 7BE.
Mark the publication of Judi’s latest collection of poems, a result of her Writer in Residence post in the NHS, Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. 2004-2006.  Light refreshments. BUT MUST RSVP  lindsay.martin@nhs.net

Many of the poems in this collection are based on  the author’s two years working in oncology and palliative care. Just as many are about the Scottish countryside she called home. She now lives in London’s East End, where she volunteers at the East Ham Nature Reserve.

“The relish with which the poems are made – the voice always clear in the ear – reveals a warm confiding humanity which will gain her many new readers.”
– Carol Ann Duffy on Call It Blue
