Oxygen 2: InCrops - a talk by John French

This Oxygen 2 talk supported by Creative Scotland is a celebration of innovation, covering the original concept for ‘innovation in crops’ and the exciting results that have come from its development.
Based at UEA and true to the motto of ‘Do Different’ John French brought with him a range of experiences from Orkney, the Highlands and Islands, Islay, Cornwall - The Eden Project and set up the InCrops Enterprise Hub in 2008 with substantial funding.
Five years on this talk will navigate some of the exciting outcomes: some expected, some not at all expected and it will focus on some of the other downstream concepts that have spun out into fashion, design, architecture and even the financial sector.
There is still much to do as society fails to get off its  ‘energy and petrochemical treadmill’; some of these challenges and opportunities will be addressed with real examples of sustainable choices and outstanding outcomes that have resulted from recent research. The talk will challenge all interested to ‘do different’ and make a real contribution at your own personal level.
Friday 29 Nov at 7.00 pm, venue - Duncan Rooms Easterbrook Hall, The Crichton, Dumfries DG1 4TA
Tickets from 01387 702020  - Booking is advised.
Free admission to the Lecture + Drinks + Reception
