West Fest Open Exhibition 2013

On Friday 1st November 2013, some sixty people enjoyed a sneak preview of the 2013 Stranraer Open Art Exhibition. This event is organised by West Fest and showcases the work of both local and nationally known artists and makers – amateur and professional – from across a wide range of artistic endeavour. Work on display ranges from; painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking and fabric.


Vivian Delf officially opened the exhibition and commented on the high standard and

excellent quality of the work on view and hoped that the exhibition would continue to grow

in stature.
Photography is particularly well represented with imaginative and challenging works from

In ceramics, David Alexander’s large bowl,”Dish,Flowing”, is typical of this experienced and

respected potters recent work.



Vaughan Roberts and Robert Dabner. Paintings such as “Crail Harbour” by Jim Mclean and

“Blink of Blue” by Denis Leiper demonstrate both artists complete mastery of their medium.

 


There is something for everyone in this exhibition. The exhibition is free and open to the public during museum opening times and runs until 30th November at Stranraer Museum,55 George Street, Stranraer DG9 7JP
