An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual, experienced in working with young people through a partnership approach. 

The fantastic Youth Enquiry Service down on Buccleuch Street

This post holder will also have lead responsibility for taking forward the development, planning and delivery of the new youth involvement framework for Dumfries and Galloway. You will support the area CLD Teams to involve a broad range of young people in new local youth platforms that are at the early stages of development .Additionally the post holder will have a role in supporting the areas involvement in the Scottish Youth Parliament and the relevant support to the elected MSYPs for the area- You will be at the forefront of these exciting new developments which will truly involve young people in a democratic and open way

The post will also be responsible for developing a new regional Youth Work Strategic Planning Group which will bring a range of third sector and public sector agencies together to jointly plan work for young people.

This challenging and stimulating post is part of a wider team of youth work staff developing and supporting creative youth work activity and involvement across Dumfries and Galloway.

Applicants should have experience in engaging with and assessing the needs of young people and preferably (but not essential) have be qualified to degree level in Community Learning & Development (Or equivalent) . 

In addition, they should have a knowledge of the youth democracy and engagement with young people and have experience in developing complex partnerships and working with a variety of different people.
