Cressa McLaren @ Designs Gallery

Cressa McLaren based over at the WASPS studios in Kirkcudbright opens her solo show next month at Designs Gallery in Castle Douglas...

"I am delighted to announce the launch of my summer exhibition, ' A Glass Meadow '. For this exhibition I have created a collection of large-scale sculptural flower pieces inspired by my love of nature and my passion for colour, contrast and texture.
The idea is to create an installation that invites people to experience and respond to the pieces of Glasswork in the way they they might respond to beauty in the natural world. My aim is to bring the essence of the flowers into an interior setting.
Every flower in the glass meadow is different.Giant daisies lift there faces to the sun,the peppered pink petal tips offsetting the creamy white of the petals and bright yellow centres. Tree blossom flowers stretch and curl luxuriously, There elegant curves bringing a touch of exoticism to the mix.
' Glass Meadow ' will be showing at Design Gallery,Castle Douglas from 17 May - 28 June 2014. Free admission"
