Emily Smith @ The Fullarton and The Buccleuch Centre

Multi award winning singer Emily Smith ends her UK wide album launch tour
this weekend with two home region shows at The Fullarton, Castle Douglas
on Fri 4th April and The Buccleuch Centre, Langholm on Sat 5th April.

One of Scotland’s most distinctive voices…exquisite and uplifting. The
sincerity in Emily’s singing is simply entrancing”
R2 *****

“Stunning…virtually every number was a highlight"
The Scotsman **** (Live review Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh, March 2014)

“Bursting with joy and talent"
The Telegraph ****

“The freshest sounding folk album in an age"
Sunday Express ****

On this, her fifth studio album, Emily continues to draw on her talent as one of
the finest interpreters of traditional song in the UK. Unshakeably Scottish but
with farther, wider horizons, 'Echoes' is a bold new phase in Emily’s music.
New settings of time worn texts weave beautifully alongside contemporary
covers blurring the borders of old and new. With a line up of special guests
including Jerry Douglas, Kris Drever, Tim Edey and Aoife O'Donovan Echoes is
her finest album yet. Joining Emily on tour are regular band mates Jamie
McClennan (guitar, fiddle & vocals) and Matheu Watson (guitar, viola and
whistle). Signy Jakobsdottir (percussion) and Ross Hamilton (bass) will also be
performing with Emily at The Fullarton show.
