Spring Fling 2015 Call for Local Exhibition Partners

For Spring Fling 2015 (23 - 25 May), we hope to involve more galleries to be part of Spring Fling through our exhibition programme. Following the success of our national showcases in 2014, we hope to continue our exhibitions outside of the region, and at the same time, we realised that with a growing number of amazing galleries in the region there are also opportunities to refresh our exhibition programme in Dumfries & Galloway.

The main Spring Fling exhibition in 2015 will be in Castle Douglas rather than its traditional location at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries, we will be working with a partner on this main exhibition. In addition, we are calling for 2 - 5 galleries/venues to host Spring Fling exhibitions across the region in the run up to Spring Fling 2015 (23 -25 May).

Why be a Partner?

Recognised as one of the most successful visual art & craft open studios event in the UK, Spring Fling attracts over 10,000 visitors each year and represent over 90 of the region’s most talented artists and makers. Early feedback shows that Spring Fling 2014 achieved great success through its new projects – Spring Fling Rural Mural (SFRM) and its national exhibitions.

As an important part of Spring Fling, we also produce over 20,000 high quality brochures and 30,000 maps for visitors to use and artists often keep them to use throughout the year.

Exhibition partners of Spring Fling 2015 will be:

• Included in Spring Fling 2015 brochure with the official Spring Fling exhibitions.
• Advertised and promoted through Spring Fling’s marketing and PR campaign. Spring Fling’s mailing list reached over 6000 high quality contacts across the UK and the 2014 PR achieved great success including coverage on BBC Scotland, ITV and broadsheet newspaper.
• Able to access high quality artists/makers taking part in Spring Fling.
• Taking full commission on all sales at the exhibitions.
