Summer season at Cut the Mustard

Good morning everyone, just a quick email to let you know what's happening over the coming months at Cut the Mustard.

17 June till 26 July – Geoff Forrest Exhibition – Willow Weaver

19 July – 26 August – Jo Butcher Exhibition – Textile Artist

Sat 12 July – Jewellery making using rivets and found objects. Learn how to make rivets from tube and wire to connect materials without the use of heat. £65 per person plus materials. 10 – 4, please bring lunch. 1 place left.

Sat 19th July – Make a silver ring. You’ll learn how to cut, file, solder and polish silver. £80 per person, all materials included, 10 – 4, please bring lunch.

Sat 26th July – Willow Platters with Geoff Forrest. Suitable for all, all materials provided and you’ll take home a beautiful willow platter, 10am – 1pm, £35 per person.

Sat 2nd August - Meet your Maker with Sarah Stokes, 10.30-1pm. Free Event

Sat 2nd August – Make a fancy copper bracelet. 10-4, £70 per person including materials, please bring lunch.

Sat 30th August – Mixed Media and basic bookmaking workshop with Helen Acklam. Helen will look at ideas and techniques for working in mixed media using different paints, pencils and ways of incorporating texture. You’ll finish the day by turning your work into a basic book using the Japanese stab binding technique. Helen will also give you ideas for working with other types of papers. 10am – 4pm, all materials provided but please bring your lunch. £59 per person.

Tues 16 Sept – Fri 24 Oct – Gwen Adair – Exhibition.

Sat 27 Sept – Meet your Maker with painter, Gwen Adair. Free Event.

Sat 11th October – Basket Making with Geoff Forrest. Suitable for beginners or those wishing to improve. All materials supplied but please bring lunch. £59 per person and your basket is yours to take home at the end of the day.

Sat 18th October – Mosaics workshop with Jane Rose. Come along to Jane’s relaxing mosaics class and make a house name or number, mirror or decorative wall plaque using wood and slate. She will bring along a selection of glass tiles, mirror, beads and other shiny things. All abilities welcome. £50 per person including materials, please bring your lunch. 10am – 4pm.

Saturday 29th November – Giant willow and felt flowers with Geoff Forrest and Ann Smith. Geoff and Ann will show you how to make a willow flower with felt centre, these are FAB! 10am till 1pm, all materials supplied. £50 per person.


Workshops at Cut the Mustard

1st November 2014 – 10 Jan 2015 - Affordable Art and Craft Exhibition. Original work from a variety of artists and makers, all items under £200.

Jewellery Classes: Mid week private tuition at our Langholm studios £120 per day mid week (Mon or Weds), £150 per day at weekends. 10am– 3pm, you will need to provide your own materials.

Make your own wedding rings workshops – £300 per couple plus materials. Rings can be stone set and/or engraved. This is done separately and charged at cost. Contact Lisa on 07761 469092 for more information.
