Castle Douglas Local Rural Parliament Event

Our Vision for Rural Scotland – Local Rural Parliament Events
This is an early bird notification of an upcoming event that has great importance for people living and working in rural areas of Dumfries and Galloway . These Scottish Rural Parliament meetings will go towards identifying the collective vision for rural Scotland and the issues that are important to us.

When: Monday the 22nd September 2014.
Where: The Mill on the Fleet, High Street, Gatehouse of Fleet, Castle Douglas, DG7 2HS
Time: 18.30 –20.30
Purpose:
-Raise awareness of the Rural Parliament and encourage attendance at the November event
-Start to gain input from communities into the Rural Parliament
-Stimulate discussion about solutions to local challenges in Dumfries and Galloway
-Create a collective vision for rural Scotland
Event:
·Presentation of the Scottish Rural Parliament
·Q&A and any other presentations from a local perspective
·Workgroup / world café session to address people’s vision for their community in 10 years time and what will be needed to enable this and address current barriers.

  1. Shame it isn't actually going to be in Castle Douglas which has better public transport links than Gatehouse of Fleet.
