11am - Curating and Collaboration

Join SCAN during Edinburgh Art Festival 2014 for an informal conversation and networking event exploring different aspects of collaboration within curatorial practice. SCAN will invite three guests to present and critique their own approaches to working collaboratively then host an informal discussion with those in attendance.

Speakers will include curators and artists who work within a variety of collaborative curatorial situations.Guests now include Stacy Boldrick (curator of Research and Interpretation at The Fruitmarket Gallery) and Mother Tongue, a research-led curatorial project formed by Tiffany Boyle and Jessica Carden, other speakers tbc.

This event is geared towards anyone interested in curatorial practice, whether you are a curator, artist, programmer, producer, writer or a practitioner from another field keen to explore the subject.

This event is inspired by 'Where do I end and you begin' a major international exhibition of contemporary art selected by five curators from Commonwealth countries, commissioned by EAF in partnership with the City Art Centre as part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme.

4pm - Curators in Conversation

EAF invites you to join them as the five curatorial advisors of Where do I end and you begin Aaron Kreisler (New Zealand), Vidya Shivadas (India), Kathleen Ritter (Canada), Thembinkose Goniwe (South Africa) and Richard Hylton (UK) - come together to discuss the ideas raised by the works on show, and the process of working together across continents. Followed by networking drinks till 18.30pm. Book here.
