All Aboard the DG Arts Bus

From the DG Unlimited team

The DG Unlimited Annual Arts Convention on November 5th is shaping up to be an absolute must for all who love the arts and creative sectors in Dumfries and Galloway. Not only will there be the chance to put your questions to Creative Scotland CEO Janet Archer, but there will be inspiring presentations and performances of many kinds.

There is now even a free bus taking attendees to and from the Ryan Centre, Stranraer. This will run from Langholm, Lockerbie, Dumfries, Castle Douglas, Gatehouse of Fleet, Creetown and Newton Stewart. Booking is essential as places are limited - and exact times and pick up points will be emailed once your place is reserved.

The performers will include young musicians and singers Zoe Bestel and Robyn Stapleton – winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award 2014. There will be presentations from each part of the region by the Area Arts Convenors plus a talk by Richard Grieveson, Head of Resource Planning and Community Services, Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Overall the convention is a fabulous opportunity to come together, look to the future and reflect on the year gone by. Doors open at 12.30pm and there will be a free lunch.
The convention is open to members and non-members and it’s free to attend.

Reserve your place now on the Eventbrite site.

If you have any questions email

We would also suggest that car sharing might be a great idea for those who don’t catch the bus. If you would like to offer, or request, a car share get in touch and we will put your details on Facebook.
