Spring Fling is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated new member to join the evolving organisation! The new member will carry out a broad range of programming, marketing and administrative functions supporting the delivery of the Spring Fling Open Studios Event, and related year round activities.
Job Title: Project Officer (0.6 – 0.8FTE)
Contract Date: Immediate start (December 2014) until August 2015 initially
Location: Spring Fling Office, Gracefield Arts Centre, 28 Edinburgh Road, Dumfries, DG1 1JQ
Salary: £18,000 pa pro rata

- Evolution of Spring Fling – a Creative Scotland funded development project shaping Spring Fling into a year round organisation for visual art and craft*;
- 1 national showcase of work by Spring Fling artists in Edinburgh and our first international showcase in Berlin. As well as exhibitions locally;
- Young Artist Bursary programme pairing 3 young artists with artist mentors;
- A poster competition with local schools to create the official Spring Fling 2015 poster which will be distributed nation-wide;
- Modern Heritage Craft workshops for upper secondary school students and an exhibition showcasing the work in Designs Gallery, Castle Douglas;
- Artist residencies in local schools.

The Post
The job will require 3 - 4 days (22-30 hours per week) per week for 9 months initially. Hours of working will be agreed for each month at least 2 weeks in advance. The rate of pay is £18,000 pa pro rata.
Although some of the tasks can be done remotely from home (Spring Fling will provide a work laptop), the successful candidate will be required to be in the office in Dumfries for at least one day per week.
The successful candidate should be able to start before or on 1st December 2014
*The results of this development project mean that the length of the contract, post and pay rate will be reviewed in June 2015
