Creebaby
The Inspire Creetown Project is due to unveil its latest piece 'Creebaby' this weekend. Standing around 20 foot tall, the Creebaby, a beautifully sculpted metal frame, awaiting the roses and clematis that will become woven around it - growing with time, the baby is alive.
The Baby has a doorway in its back so that you can step into it and see the world from the inside out. The Sculpture sits in the Balloch Wood over looking the ponds. Balloch Wood climbs above the village and is an idyllic place to visit, with its beautifully crafted round house, ponds, woodland walks and now the Creebaby.
This sculpture has been created by internationally renowned artist Alex Rigg. He is also known locally for the willow giant at the Wickerman Festival each year that he builds alongside Trevor Leat as well as the recent production of the Tide Machine and many other projects by his company Oceanallover.
The official public unveiling will take place on Saturday, April 9 at 12 noon.
