Arts as Medicine: Exploring Arts in a Healthcare Context

Launch of Creative Space, G Block, Western Infirmary, Dumbarton Road, Glasgow
Arts as Medicine: Exploring Arts in a  Health Context
This series of events and seminars will take place in the new Creative Space at the Western Infirmary in Glasgow. Link is here.
A “work in progress”, the CREATIVE SPACE is a collaboration between The Medical Humanities Unit at Glasgow University, NHSGGC and Art in Hospital. Funded by Creative Scotland and supported by Glasgow University and NHSGGC.
The Creative Space will launch on Monday 20 June.
Based on the established Art in Hospital model of creating art spaces for patients in health settings across Greater Glasgow, this Space will enable arts health and medical practitioners to share their practice.
It is the beginning of a conversation which starts with the Summer Seminar Series.
Please note that the launch is an informal event and you are welcome to drop in any time from 4.30 onwards until 7.30pm.
20 - 23 June 2011
Linda Mallett of The Commonty will be speaking on Wednesday the 22nd in a  conversation exploring recent work, theory and practice underpinning the development of art and therapeutic design in two new health centres.
