Windows on the Stove

from Denise Zygadlo

Posters for Spring Fling were in one of the Stove windows last month (currently there are some animal charity posters - presumably courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce)

Following the showcasing Spring Fling posters in the Stove windows idea, I was wondering about the possibility of showcasing artists of all genre for a month? each at a time with info about them and their work etc and pieces of their work/ video, whatever in the window space.
I don't know how easy/difficult this would be, but it such a great opportunity to introduce the people/centre of Dumfries to its local artists / craftspeople / writers / dancers / musicians etc.
There could be a regular link with D&G Standard and DG Life to back it up?
 Any takers....?

  1. Great idea Denise, I would be up for showing work or helping install work of others!

  2. Count me in too Denise - I'm having a concrete poem phase and I like the idea of making them large-scale artworks. I'm JoAnne McKay, by the way.

  3. Great idea. We need to clear it with the Chamber first as we can apparently only use one window at a time. Using more than one window in an otherwise empty building supposedly brings out the avaricious claws of the assessor!
