Commonty Summer Gathering

Saturday was a special sort of day for all of us that came to the Summer Gathering at Auchencairn. When Will Levi Marshall offered to host an event for us, I don't think any of us had a clue just how much generosity and hosting we would be treated to by Will and his wife Phoebe! We were greeted with a mountain of scones and all day long Will and Phoebe introduced everyone to the gloriously imprecise art of Raku pot decoration and firing. This was an inspired idea for something to amuse a big bunch of random creative types - equally inspired was the fact that you ended up with something to drink out of into the bargain. The food table was fair buckling under the weight of deliciousness that everyone brought as a contribution...in fact such was the general atmosphere of good times that everyone took a break from the serious work of cross-regional networking and just enjoyed being in this beautiful place in the the sunshine.
There was a steady stream of folk coming and going all day, plenty of time to catch up with people and it was great to be putting faces to names of people that have 'met' through the blog. However, in a characteristic reversion to old 'before social media' ways it seems that no one took any photos of the day....exactly what kind of bloggers are we? If anyone has any please send them to thecommonty@gmail.com

Thanks Will and Phoebe - it was a blast
