John Paul Jones The Gairdners Son

Alan Reid, founder and, for four decades, member of internationally acclaimed folk outfit Battlefield Band presents this intriguing new work with duo partner Rob van Sante – it promises to be something very special and to become part of the cultural legacy of Dumfries & Galloway.
It’s a story of sea battles, intrigue and scandal (and perhaps even murder?…) told through song, narration and drama. It’s a tale of the life and times of Dumfriesshire born mariner and all-American hero John Paul Jones with original music in the folk styles of the many different places associated with this much travelled sailor in his chequered and controversial career.
