Music and Performing Arts Networking Event

Are you in the business of performing arts and music?  If so, come along to an informal evening in the Buccleuch Centre, Langholm on 11th April at 7pm.  The evening is hosted by Creative Arts Business Network (CABN) aimed at bringing creative people with a shared interest together.

CABN is a project developed in partnership by Dumfries and Galloway Council and Scottish Borders Council to support individuals and businesses in the Creative Arts Sector across the South of Scotland.  There are many talented people in the region who need advice, support and encouragement to develop their work. The CABN project aims to bring these people together and provide a positive way forward for themselves and for Dumfries and Galloway.
Judith Johnson (performing arts advocate) of Centre Stage Theatre and acclaimed harper Wendy Stewart (music advocate) will be present and the evening will be led by Lesley Rogers, CABN Development Officer, Dumfries and Galloway Council.  The format will be a brief introduction from everyone (give us a song if you like!) and an opportunity to promote your business and events you have coming up. Then there will be a discussion about what help and support is required for performers, venues and musicians in the local area, and we will ensure there is time left to make new friends and catch up with old ones.
The creative advocates know what the arts have done for them and want to hear what you would like for yourself and your community.
Come along, share your views and have your voice heard.  Please let us know if you are coming so we can organise refreshments. Also if you are willing to have your 5 minutes of fame at the start of the meeting!
