Entanglements: New Ecopoems

from Dave Borthwick

Invitation to the Launch of Entanglements: New Ecopoems

The University of Glasgow in Dumfries, together with Two Ravens Press, invites you to attend the launch of Entanglements, an anthology of new Ecopoetry, on Monday 19 November at 7.30 pm in the Rutherford-McCowan Building, Dumfries Campus.

Entanglements: New Ecopoems draws together work by a range of international figures (including Jorie Graham, John Kinsella, Les Murray, Alice Oswald and Ruth Padel) alongside a wide range of engaging and challenging work from established and emerging writers internationally, and including poets based in Dumfries and Galloway and Cumbria.
The book is driven by the joy of our intimate entanglement with life— set against the spectacle of a planet-wide ecological catastrophe of our own making, explored using forms and styles from many branches of the broad tree of ecopoetry.

The anthology is introduced by Dumfries Campus’ Dr David Borthwick, who will be joined by Dr Sharon Blackie (writer, crofter, and Editor of Earthlines magazine), who co-edited the collection.  Reading from their excellent work with be Em Strang and Fiona Russell, postgraduates at Dumfries Campus; the wonderful Kathleen Jones; Paul Kingsnorth (co-founder of the Dark Mountain Project); as well as the inimitable Gerry Loose.

Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.

Entanglements in launched in association with The Solway Centre for Environment and Culture
