The Great Creative Scotland Stramash

A week in the sun for the Scots arts journalists.....art on the front pages no less.... eg 'Leading artists unite to condemn funding body' This has gone on all week to the point where it was beginning to sound like a media campaign baying for the heads of Andrew Dixon and Venu Dhupa. Further fuel seemed to be added to the fire by a public reply to the '100 artists' by CS chairman Sandy Crombie.
Luckily folk are pulling back from the fight now - some of the new mood coming with the example of partnership in D+G between practitioners, local authority, agencies etc being cited by Matt Baker see also ThinkingPractice blog and Scottish Review for new perspectives on the evolving conversation around a 'new contract between artists and the nation'
