Go and See - Independent Cinema Office

CABN is offering to cover the fees, travel and accommodation costs through its ‘Go and See’ Budget for up to 3 practitioners from Dumfries and Galloway to attend the ICO Autumn Screening Days which will be held at the Watershed in Bristol, 2- 4 November 2013. 

ICO Screening Days is an industry event for people who work or volunteer in independent cinemas, mixed arts venues, film festivals and film societies, to come and watch films before their release date, to inform programming and marketing plans for the upcoming months. 

It is an opportunity to preview titles that will be hitting screens in early 2014, and to meet and network with fellow colleagues and gain advice from the industry experts on hand throughout the event.

Please register interest to Stephanie.Carrick@dumgal.gov.uk.  Places are on allocated on first come, first served basis.

Already confirmed films for this years programme include:

  • The Invisible Woman – second Directorial offering from Ralph Fiennes (Coriolanus) about the life of Charles Dickens’ mistress and muse Nelly Ternan. Based on the book by Claire Tomalin.
    Cast: Ralph Fiennes, Felicity Jones, Kristin Scott Thomas, Tom Hollander
  • Jeune & Jolie – following storming UK box offices with In the House, François Ozon brings usJeune & Jolie a coming of age story of a 17-year-old girl, over four seasons.
  • Nebraska – Cannes award-winning acting from Bruce Dern in Alexander Payne’s (The Descendants, Sideways, About Schmidt) heart-warming familial drama, about a father who takes a trip with his son to claim a million dollar marketing prize.
