Slaying of the Comyn: Good or Bad
for Scotland?
The Robert the Bruce Commemoration Trust are
hosting a debate to argue the consequences of the slaying of his cousin and
rival, John Comyn by Robert Bruce in
the Church of Greyfriars in Dumfries on 10th February
1306.Dumfries town centre is the site of this fateful act, which
catapulted Bruce into claiming the Scottish
throne and into direct conflict with Edward 1, King of England.
