Make a Violin and Jam Session in Moffat

from Marilyn Elliott

I'm not sure whether it's suitable for putting on The Commonty as it's about something happening just over the border in Brampton.  However, I thought it might be of interest to people who live in The Borders and D&G.

I don't know if it's ever been publicised, but every Thursday evening at The Stag Hotel in Moffat there is a folk-based jam session.  There never seems to be less than 7 musicians taking part and typically consists of players of guitar, violin, squeeze box, bongo drum, harmonica - varying each week.  Whatever each week's mix, there is always a great atmosphere and it's all free of charge.
