The Five Minute Theatre project

From Justin Hyslop

We are excited to announce that we have been approached by the National Theatre of Scotland who are looking to run one of their international projects right here in Dumfries. The National Theatre of Scotland are currently looking for anyone who can create, direct, produce and perform their own piece of theatre, which will be performed in front of an audience, and then streamed online to the whole world.

The National Theatre of Scotland are coming to Dumfries on Monday 24th of February to discuss the possibility of creating a Hub in Dumfries on the 23rd of June which will see all the South of Scotland pieces broadcast from. We are looking for your interest and support in this project to see that Dumfries grab the chance of this great opportunity to host a National Theatre of Scotland project.

The Five Minute Theatre project is a massive opportunity for our regional schools and Community Art Organisations to get involved in a national project which will see you working with the National Theatre of Scotland with your finished pieces being streamed around the world on Monday 24th of June.

If you would like to take part or hear more information about this project we are holding an information session this coming Monday 24th February at 3.30 – 5.00pm @ Electric Theatre Workshop, 28 Munches Street, Dumfries DG1 1ET. We would like to invite you to this short session where Marianne Maxwell from National Theatre Scotland and Electric Theatre Workshop will present more information on this project.
