Dumfries writer launches Yes book

Dumfries and Galloway Multicultural Association will host the local launch of Yes: The Radical Case For Scottish Independence at 7pm on Wednesday 23^rd April. The book, written by Dumfries-based researcher James Foley with writer Pete Ramand, argues the case for a progressive campaign for a Yes vote in September's referendum on Scottish independence. It has been widely praised, receiving enthusiastic and positive reviews from the likes of Bernadette McAliskey, Ruth Wishart, Jean Urquhart MSP and Mogwai guitarist Stuart Braithwaite.

 

Foley and Ramand, both founding members of the Radical Independence Campaign, will be there to do a presentation on the book, answer questions from the audience and sign copies. James Foley said “I am delighted to have the opportunity to launch my book in my home town. In the first couple of weeks since publication we've sold out of our first print run, which shows that there's a huge appetite for new ideas about independence.”

Come along and take the opportunity to meet these authors of a book that Aamer Anwar has described as “a landmark on the road to independence”.
