International Musicians Platform returns to D&G

From Absolute Classics

From the 1-10 August Dumfries and Galloway will be filled with the "Sound of Music".

International Classical Artists will once again join us in the International Musicians Platform.

With a leading line up of musicians including, Karine Georgian, Lorraine McAslan, John Lenehan, John Thwaites, Eduard Kunz, Mei Yi Foo, Robert Irvine and Tony Moffat, the 2014 Platform is looking fantastic. 



The first concert up as part of the series is London Soloists Ensemble - Piano Trio
Date: Friday 1st August

Da Vinci Piano Trio
Date: Tuesday 5th August
Time: 7:30pm
Location: Greyfriars Church, Dumfries, DG1 1DE

The Da Vinci Piano Trio will also play the Annan Academy Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday 6th August, from 1 - 2pm.

Silent Movie Concert
"Film Fantasia - a programme of silent and music-inspired films accompanied by John Lenehan"
Charlie Chaplin in “One A.M.” (music by Scott Joplin)
Jean Renoir’s “Images pour Debussy” (“Reflets dans L’eau)
Lotte Reiniger’s “Papageno” (music by Mozart)
Emile Cohl’s “Drama of the Puppets” (music by Mozart)
Harold Lloyd in “Never Weaken” (popular music from the 1920s) 

In addition to these concerts each day from 1-2pm we will host young artist recitals at Annan Academy Performing Arts Centre. The concerts are free to watch and we look forward to welcoming you to them.
