Creative Intern Opportunity in Moffat

Intern opportunity for ‘Anatomy of a Small Scottish Town’

Two young Russian women creatives will undertake a residency in the Dumfriesshire town of Moffat from the 5th -18th May, 2014 to curate an exhibition that is scheduled to be shown at Moscow’s Rudomino Library for Foreign Literature (VGBIL) in October 2014.

Moffat Book Events (MBE) seeks an intern to assist photographer Masha Buylova and art historian Maria Popova and complete the small team that, with the support of the community of Moffat, will be endeavouring to capture the essence of the town through images and interviews for what will be a largely digital exhibition.

The successful candidate will ideally have; local knowledge, an interest in photography, some research experience and a flair for design and might possibly be seeking experience leading to a career in the heritage sector. A modest honorarium is available, largely to cover transport costs. The Russian artists have excellent English and their involvement with the VGBIL International Centre means they have an extensive knowledge of different cultures; working with them will be a stimulating educational experience.

To apply, send a CV and a few lines on what you can bring to this project, your availability over the period in question and something on how you might benefit from the experience to Alan Thomson.
