Vindauga at Abbey Cottage

From Abbey Cottage Tearoom

‘Vindauga’
An exhibition by Helen Acklam
1 -30 September 2014

A new exhibition opens at Abbey Cottage Tearoom in New Abbey this week, ‘Vindauga’, an exhibition of mixed media work, by Dumfries-based artist Helen Acklam.

Helen draws her inspiration from the Orkney Islands, especially the interaction between Norse myth, archaeology, geology and creativity and her work spans drawing, painting, sculpture and even bookwork. Helen says “the use of mixed media allows me to use layers, and the addition of textures gives my work an added dimension.”

Jacqui Wilson of Abbey Cottage says, ‘We are delighted to be inviting Helen Acklam back to Abbey Cottage. Anyone who enjoyed her popular exhibition with us last year will love her new work – we certainly do!”
