Creative Arts Masterclasses - at Drumlanrig


The Royal Society of Edinburgh is looking for enthusiastic, talented, young people (aged 14 – 25), from throughout Dumfries and Galloway, to participate in a free Master Class. 
Each Master Class will be held at Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill and last for one full day in week commencing 20 June 2011. The classes will be delivered by an expert for each subject area – Art, Drama, Music, Creative Writing and Film & Television - and will focus on both the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject areas.
Master Class expert leaders include; Scottish actress and director, Muriel Romanes; artist, George Donald; renowned film producer, Carole Sheridan; and local talented traditional musician and singer, Claire Hastings.

 Following the Master Class day in w/c 20 June, the participants will be invited to showcase the work they have created at a Summer Garden Party, open to the public, which will be held at Drumlanrig Castle on Saturday 25 June 2011. 

If you have a particular talent in these subjects and are interested in attending a free Master Class, please apply in writing to dumgal@royalsoced.org.uk by Friday 10 June. Applications should include your name, contact details, age and a short paragraph detailing your experience / background, including why you are interested in attending and why you would benefit from this experience.
 Places are limited, so please apply as soon as possible.
