Dumfriesshire Delineated - call for works

13 August - 22 October 2011

Gracefield Gallery 1 & Dumfries Museum

This partnership project between Gracefield Art Centre and Dumfries Museum will explore the landscapes, buildings and people of Dumfriesshire by contrasting historic and contemporary works of art.  Dumfries Museum will host an exhibition exploring the way artists have recorded the county over the last three centuries, comparing romantic 18th century prints of historic monuments and idealised 19th century oils with 20th century works that focus on light and colour
Gracefield invites contemporary professional artists to present new interpretations of the area to be displayed in a selected exhibition of around 40 artworksThe public will be invited to vote for their favourite with the winner of the most votes to be purchased* for the Gracefield Permanent Collection – voting will close on Saturday 15th October.  This is an exciting opportunity to present newly created or existing artwork in a high profile exhibition with further opportunities to sell and have work commissioned into digital print.

Call for submissions:
Please submit up to 4 images per artist in slide, photograph or on disc (digital image such as jpeg/tiff) by 10 June 2011, with the form attached, and include a short CV or artist’s statement.
