was a crofter from Uist who spent almost 50 years in a Highland
psychiatric hospital. During this time he chose not to speak - instead
he wove a series of incredible costumes out of grass. These he hung on
trees in the hospital grounds.

Horse and Bamboo brought their magical tales to D&G some years ago, on both horse-drawn and van tours. A company not to be missed - and this subject is sure to be inspirational for H&B and for audiences. Joyce Cairns, who worked with Angus and his extraordinary woven objects, worked extensively with many outsider artists, nurturing their confidence and showcasing the work they created. A lady to salute. And a book for Christmas stockings .....
