A quick update on the WASPS weekend...

It was a weekend of mince pies, mulled wine and inspiring/inspired art chat with the various visitors to WASPS open studios event at the weekend. Many of the regular artists and craftspeople of Cannonwalls and Claverhouse opened their doors (see the work of Ross and Jenny Fulton above), along with the two most recent additions to the building – Emma Kerr (textiles and surface design) and KatieAnderson (small scale sculpture and istallation), both participating in a year long residency within the WASPS building.

As recent graduates, Katie from Brydekirk and Emma from Eastriggs, we have both been settling in for the past four months – and this was our first opportunity to open our studios to the wider public. It is an odd experience – opening up our private spaces to lots of people to explore, but one filled with positive feedback and friendly faces. Time to move - onwards and upwards, revitalised with a new sense of direction and focus.
