busculture

from Annie Crabtree

busculture is a one-off event produced by Picture Window for Route 75. A unique showcase of Glasgow's varied musical landscape, journeying from the centre to the peripheries of this fine city. Between Cowcaddens and Milton, the city's 75 bus route will play host to live sets from a variety of collectives. The event will be supported by a week of shop-front projections, exploring music's function within society.
Documentation of the event will be re-projected into shop-fronts the following week, as well as being distributed widely online.

The project's aim is to physically transport Glasgow's extensive music scene past the confines of the city centre to the more neglected areas on the outskirts of the city. It will explore the potential of more dynamic forms of musical interaction. Beyond the performer-audience product-consumer model, is there scope for a more meaningful cultural exchange?
